Myths Revolving Around Water Heaters

Myths Revolving Around Water Heaters

Here are some myths that have popped up regarding water heaters.

Have you been thinking about getting a new water heater, but you haven’t committed to the decision just yet? Doing some research online, you may uncover a few myths about water heaters that could make you more hesitant about getting one. You don’t have to worry, however, as we will debunk these myths for you today. Here are some myths that have popped up regarding water heaters.

“They’re Very Expensive”

Some water heaters, mainly the tankless variants, are given a reputation of being particularly pricey, to the point that they could be considered too expensive to install. While these heaters do come at a price, they can still be affordable for many households, and they give you the opportunity to save money every month due to the lower energy bill costs.

“They Can Heat Up to Dangerously High Temperatures”

While a modern water heater does a good job at raising the temperature of water, that doesn’t mean the temperatures will get to the point that they’re dangerous. As long as you properly maintain your water heater, you can make certain that the water inside of it is always at an ideal temperature. It should match up with the temperature that you have on the thermostat, which should be in the range of 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

“They Don’t Output Enough Hot Water”

Some people don’t believe that a water heater can provide enough heat for the water they use in their homes. We’re here to tell you that this is far from the case. While some water heaters are smaller than others, which likely leads to skepticism regarding their potential heat output, there are plenty of heaters that can get your water to the desired temperature. As long as the water heater you have is functional, it should be able to reach the temperatures you need for the water you use around the house.
