Do You Have a Clogged Dishwasher?

Do You Have a Clogged Dishwasher?

When your dishwasher is clogged, all sorts of problems can arise.

When your dishwasher is clogged, all sorts of problems can arise. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if it is clogged or not, but it depends on how often you use your dishwasher. It’s easy to let the dishes get out of control. That’s why it’s so important to make sure your kitchen appliances work.

Weird Gurgling

One sign that something is wrong is when you hear weird gurgling noises from your dishwasher. This sound is actually coming from the drains attached to your dishwasher. The clogs might not be in the appliance itself but in the sewer lines or the secondary lines. When you hear this sound, then it’s a sign that you need to get a professional plumber to come over. You need to have someone you can trust, and you’ll know it when you find a reputable plumber.

The Drain is Slow

Another sign that something is wrong is when the drain is slow. The dishwasher and sink might both take a while to drain. This is a bad omen. This means that a clog is forming, but it hasn’t fully matured yet. Even so, it’s something that you can’t ignore. The clog might eventually block up both the dishwasher and the sink. If that happens, you could end up flooding your kitchen by complete accident.

Water Backups

Water backups can also be extremely annoying. When the dishwasher is running, don’t let other appliances or plumbing systems run at the same time. A water backup in the sink is a symptom of a bigger problem. Turn off the dishwasher. Then run the garbage disposal to clear out food debris that could be causing the problem. If it makes no difference, then it’s time to call a plumber.

Water Residue

Water residue can also make you feel uneasy. Hard water is always a problem that you need to worry about, too. If you open the dishwasher and things are still wet or there is a puddle of water at the bottom, then it means the drains aren’t fully functional.

Dirty Dishes

Once the dishwasher finishes its cycle, you expect everything inside it to be clean. But what happens if they aren’t? One reason for this is that water didn’t enter the washer at all.
